Is Alcatraz included?
Alcatraz Island Tour is included with Go San Francisco Cards from December 4, 2008 through March 31, 2009 on a same-day space available basis. The following conditions do apply:

If you are interested in taking a tour to Alcatraz with your Go San Francisco Card, you must physically show up at the Alcatraz ticket desk on Pier 33 with a valid Go San Francisco Card. If there are tour seats available on that day, you may redeem your card for a ticket. Tickets for this tour are available on a first come, first serve basis and are not guaranteed. If your Go San Francisco Card has expired, or is not valid, you will not be able to redeem it for a tour.

The Go San Francisco Card is limited to ONE Alcatraz Tour per card (subject to availability as stated above). This attraction is popular and in some cases, may be sold out. For the best chance of an available seat, please arrive as early as possible. (the ticket desk is open from 8:30 am to 2 pm daily)

If you do not want to take the chance that the Alcatraz tour will be sold out, you may obtain a reservation by purchasing your Go San Francisco card directly from Alcatraz Cruises. Please call 415-981-ROCK (7625) and mention you want to purchase a Go San Francisco Card and the agent will assist you. Upon completion of your purchase of a Go San Francisco Card, the agent will make a reservation for your included Alcatraz Tour. Reservations are not accepted for cards purchased on this website or through any other reseller.

NOTE: When you purchase a Go San Francisco Card from Alcatraz Cruises, you will need to pick up your card at the Pier 33 ticket booth. You will not have the option to have your card mailed to you in advance of your trip.

How do I get to Wine Country?
There are two options for getting to wine country.

  1. Take the included Gray Line Wine Country Tour, which includes transportation and visits to wineries in Napa and Sonoma. Reservations are required, which guarantee’s your seat. OR
  2. Designate a driver and drive to Napa and Sonoma Valley. Then, use the Go San Francisco Card for entrance into wineries, tasting rooms, and museums.

What is offered in the Monterey and Carmel tour?
This tour is a full-day tour that departs from the Fisherman’s Wharf area in San Francisco and included stops in Monterey and Carmel as well as the spectacular 17-mile drive. This tour is a special offer with the Go San Francisco Card. Cardholders receive a 40% savings from retail price (you pay: June-October: Adult $39, Child $24; November-May: Adult $33, Child $20).

Advance reservations are required, which guarantees your seat.

How do I get my ticket to use on the Cable Car?
In order to ride the Cable Car, you must pick up your cable car ticket from our distribution points: Coffee Adventures (1331 Columbus Ave; cross street is North point, near Fisherman’s Wharf) from 8-5:30 or GoCar Tours (321 Mason Street; this location only, near Union Sq.) from 9:00 am–5:00 pm (view map).

Then you can use that ticket on any of the Cable Car lines. Your Go San Francisco Card is not a cable car ticket so you cannot show it on the cable car to ride. Included in the Go San Francisco Card is a one-way ticket once per day.

Do I need to make reservations and if so, how?
With the Go San Francisco Card, some tours accept advanced reservations. Both the Included Attractions and Exclusive Deals & Savings sections of our website and our guidebook provide information as to which attractions require or recommend advanced reservations, as well as any conditions that might apply.

If you are planning to on taking advantage of some tremendous tour savings, you should check availability well in advance, to make sure you get a seat. Please also remember that your Go San Francisco Card must be valid the day you are taking the tour.
