Escape to an urban oasis of
extraordinary beauty. San Francisco’s mild Mediterranean climate enables San Francisco Botanical Garden (SFBG) to grow and conserve plants from all over the world, including plants that are no longer found in their native habitats. There are 55 acres of sanctuary, landscaped gardens and open spaces. The gardens display a variety of trees, plants, and flowers from coastal regions around the United States, which inspire local gardeners with new ideas about varieties of plants that can be grown in this unique microclimate.
Featuring over 7,500 plant varieties from around the world, the Botanical Garden’s world of gardens also features an excellent horticulture library, bookstore, and environmental education programs.
