In June 2008, the Contemporary Jewish Museum will open the doors to its new facility in the heart of downtown San Francisco’s Yerba Buena cultural district. The new CJM, an adaptive reuse of San Francisco’s historic Jessie Street Power Substation designed by internationally-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, will be a lively cultural center, bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds to explore Jewish culture, history, art, and ideas.
The Museum’s inaugural schedule explores the Jewish experience from an of array contemporary perspectives with programs ranging from visual arts to music, history, new media, science, literature, live performance, participatory installations, and exhibitions.

Hours: Monday, 11:00 am–5:30 pm;
Tuesday, 11:00 am–5:30 pm;
Thursday, 1:00 pm–8:30 pm;
Friday–Sunday, 11:00 am–5:30 pm
Closed: Wednesdays.
May be closed for major U.S. holidays.
Directions: Montgomery Street Station (BART or MUNI).
Note: The Go San Francisco Card is valid until 5:30 pm. During all other times, standard admission will apply.
*Contemporary Jewish Museum will reopen in June 2007.
