Mission San Carlos Borromeo was the second mission of 21 founded in California. Visitors enjoy the four museums, the many vibrant gardens, and the historic Basilica–which is still an active church. The founder and first president of the California missions, Father Junipero Serra, is buried here.

Hours: Monday–Saturday, 9:30 am–5:00 pm;
Sunday, 10:30 am–5:00 pm
Closed: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter and the day after, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Day and the day after.

Directions: From Highway One take Rio Road west 3/4 mile. Parking available in front of the Mission Grounds.

Unless otherwise noted, the Go San Francisco Card is valid for admissions from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
