Perched on the ocean bluff, the Seymour Marine Discovery Center is a stunning public facility dedicated to ocean science and conservation. Aquarium and exhibits feature the everyday tools of ocean exploration and focus on research conducted by scientists on site and around the world. Daily tours, hands-on programs/touch tank, and spectacular views available every day!

Come learn about the types of questions scientists ask and get a glimpse of the processes that generate insights and understanding.

The goal is to instill in visitors a lasting appreciation of the role science plays in understanding and protecting the world’s oceans. The Seymour Center is part of the University of California’s Long Marine Laboratory.

Directions: Highway One South from San Francisco. As you approach Santa Cruz, turn right on Swift Street. Then right on Delaware Avenue to the end of the road. The Seymour Center is the last building on the ocean bluff.

Highway 17 South from San Jose, than Highway One North as you approach Santa Cruz. (Highway One becomes Mission Street.) Left on Swift Street. Right on Delaware Avenue to the end of the road. The Seymour Center is the last building on the ocean bluff.
