From December 4, 2008 through March 31, 2009 Go San Francisco Card includes a tour to Alcatraz on a space available basis. Present a valid Go San Francisco Card at the Alcatraz ticket desk at Pier 33 and you will be given a ticket for a tour on that day if there are seats available. The Alcatraz Island Tour includes round-trip ferry to Alcatraz Island and a 45 minute self guided cell house audio tour. Allow approximately 2 1/2 hours for the full tour experience. The tour is available in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Japanese, Dutch and Mandarin.

Note: This is a popular tour and it can sell out. Seats are not guaranteed. For the best chance of getting on a tour, we recommend you arrive as early as possible. Not valid on the Alcatraz Night Tour.

Important Alcatraz Island Tour information:

  • Ticket availability is first come first serve and subject to same day availability. A ticket is not guaranteed with the Go San Francisco Card.
  • Tickets available on day of tour ONLY. Your Go San Francisco Card must be valid on the day of your tour. When you arrive at the Ticket Booth to check for availability your card will be validated. Expired Go San Francisco Cards will not be accepted and your reservation will not be honored.
  • After receiving your reservation time, if you are late and miss your reservation, your reservation will not be honored or credited.
  • The Go San Francisco Card is limited to ONE Alcatraz Tour per card (subject to availability).
